IMA delivers vehicles, equipment to health depts. in S. Sudan

Quad bikes and 4x4 vehicles are necessary to travel to rural areas in South Sudan. IMA recently handed over communications devices and vehicles to local County Health Departments. IMA purchased the equipment with funds from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund.

Since 2008, IMA World Health has provided vehicles, quad bikes, boats, computers, satellite communication systems (VSATS), modems, furnishings and solar lighting systems to County Health Departments throughout Upper Nile and Jonglei State in South Sudan.

Such items enable the health departments to strengthen its health facilities, so they are able to supply better care to their communities.

Recently Dr. Sarla Chand, IMA World Health/South Sudan Country Director, traveled to Malakal and officially handed over four vehicles to the County Health Departments of Ulang, Bailiet, Maiwut and Renk.

Additionally, five more VSATS were given to the County Health Departments of Longochuk, Maban, Nasir, Renk and Maiwut. These vehicles and other pieces of equipment were purchased by IMA World Health with funds from the Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF).
