IMA and CRS respond to explosion in DR Congo

IMA World Health and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) are mobilizing to support local medical facilities dealing with victims of the recent tanker explosion in Sange, Congo.

According to the Associated Press, a tanker hauling oil overturned and exploded killing an estimated 230 people and injuring many others. The survivors, in need of care from burns and other injuries have taxed the local medical facilities and IMA/CRS have shifted medical supplies from other facilities to fill the void.

The supplies are part of the IMA-run AXxes Project in DR Congo. Catholic Relief Services is the implementing partner in the USAID funded project.
