CPN-Plus is an anonymously funded maternal and newborn child health project providing antenatal services to 750,000 people in a remote part of the Congolese rain forest in Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The Equatorial Region of DRC is highly isolated and inaccessible, and for many years its people have been cut off from receiving adequate health care, including essential prenatal care for expectant mothers.
As in many developing countries, the overall health situation among women and children has been especially dire. With proper antenatal care, mothers and babies have a greater chance of survival and better health both in the short and long terms.
