IMA Needs Your Help!

day-2-16Is it possible?

Could the people of Haiti be forgotten already?

In Port-au-Prince, there are fewer cameras and reporters than last month.  Everyone has seen the devastation and the horror from the massive earthquake of January 12th. The media reported, accurately, that it will take years for Haiti to recover.  But now they have moved on to other stories and, just two months after the earthquake, Haiti seems forgotten again.  But the people of Haiti remain, facing a catastrophic aftermath and potential health care crisis.  Haitian children are still in dire need of medical care. Women are still giving birth, but now there are fewer hospitals clinics, or supplies. The recovery work in Haiti is not completed-in fact, it's just beginning! Now, more than ever, Haiti needs help from IMA World Health.  Medicines and supplies are urgently needed-and so is your support.  Your gifts make a tremendous impact for a hurting people.  And now, thanks to a generous supporter of IMA, a $50,000 matching gift fund has been created.  All monetary gifts to IMA in 2010 will be matched dollar-for-dollar.

day-2-43The impact of your gift is doubled-but only while the matching fund lasts. So please act quickly to help us mobilize medicines and supplies.  IMA Medicine Boxes® provide basic pain medications, antibiotics, ointments, and bandages to typically treat up to 1,000 people. IMA already has sent hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of Medicine Boxes®, Safe Motherhood Kits for clean birthing, and other needed supplies to Haiti, where one aid worker told us, "These are the kinds of supplies we've needed."  We are ready to send more.

Your generous gift to IMA will make a tremendous impact by providing these needed basic medicines and supplies. And the matching gift fund provides a way to increase the impact of your gift.  But please ACT NOW -Haiti's need is urgent.  And gifts will be matched only as long as the fund lasts.(Please note that the matching contribution will be designated to areas of greatest need). I've pledged that IMA will stay in Haiti until they no longer need our help. But that day is still far off.  So please-give generously for those who urgently need help.   With deep appreciation for your gift,  Rick SantosPresident and CEO Remember, IMA is extraordinarily efficient-for the second straight year, Forbes has named IMA one of the nation's "20 Most Efficient Charities", and for six years running IMA has received Charity Navigator's highest rating for efficiency, four stars.
