IMA Acting Quickly

dscf1834-1This week IMA World Health shipped more than 80 medicine boxes to help ease the suffering in Haiti. We are working in conjunction with other aid organizations to make sure the assistance gets on the ground as soon as possible. But these first shipments are just the beginning—though generous donations are coming in, the needs are immense. For the foreseeable future, IMA will continue providing medicines and medical supplies as part of the international medical relief effort.

IMA is uniquely positioned to get help to where it's needed. We have been providing medicines and supplies to Haiti for much of our 50 year history, and have had a permanent office there since 2000. We have working relationships throughout Haiti ranging from the central Haitian government to the community level. We also work with other US and international agencies and faith-based organizations throughout the country. In short, we know how to work in Haiti.

Plans already are being developed to provide as much aid as possible as quickly as we can, and we will keep our friends and partners informed of those plans. But this we know right now—medicines and supplies are urgently needed, and we must act now. We must do all we can to help.

Will you join us? This disaster will require much of IMA and our workers, but we urgently need your help as well.

Please consider that a $500 donation provides enough for pain relievers, antibiotics, bandages and other basic medical needs to typically care for up to 1,000 people. In this crisis we will need to provide for many thousands, so please give as much as you can.

Click here, or click the "Donate Now" button, to help.

Thank you for your compassion in the midst of this disaster. Your gift will make a significant impact to hurting Haitians.
